View Architectural Plans
This five bedroom home in Truro affords continuous views of Cape Cod Bay and the tip of Cape Cod at Provincetown in the distance via thirty six feet of uninterrupted glass. The open plan on the main floor contains the living room, kitchen and dining room. Direct access is provided to a large deck with a recessed seating area and a covered dining deck. Both expand the house when entertaining large groups and lead to stairs to the beach below.
About Hammer Architects
Hammer Architects has built a substantial portfolio encompassing academic, commercial and residential projects. Much of their work focuses on designs involving renovations and additions and often requires a sensitive integration of new construction with an existing historic or architecturally significant structure. Although the style of their work may vary, their designs consistently reflect a strong respect for context. Their goal is to create well designed buildings that are appropriate to their surroundings and make a significant contribution to their environment.
The size of the firm allows Hammer to maintain close collaborative relationships and provide substantial principal involvement in all phases of commissions. Their technical commitment enables them to arrive at innovative solutions, in response to client budgets, schedules and program objectives, and their experience permits them to discover creative ways to fulfill their clients’ expectations.
Mark Hammer brings to the practice over thirty years of experience extending across a diverse range of building types. Prior to starting Hammer Architects, he had been an Associate with Bruner/Cott and Cambridge Seven Associates and was the project architect for several award-winning projects. Among these are the 20 and 21 Custom House Street office buildings in Boston’s Financial District, the 931 Massachusetts Avenue Condominiums in Cambridge, The US Navy Submarine Museum in Groton, Connecticut and the new Alumni Center and Chandler Athletic Center at Williams College. Mark resides in Cambridge and Truro.
Prior to joining Hammer Architects in 2005, Don DiRocco worked at several architectural firms in the Boston area and on Nantucket. Don became an Associate at Hammer Architects in 2007, and is currently a member of the Faculty at the Boston Architectural College. Don resides in Boston and Provincetown.
